THE GARDEN

MIT EINER EXKLUSIVEN IN-SITU-INSTALLATION
UND DEN NEUESTEN POSTERN VON OLIVIA PILS

VOM 12. OKTOBER BIS ZUM 9. NOVEMBER 2013

THE GARDEN

WITH AN EXCLUSIVE IN SITU INSTALLATION
AND THE LATEST POSTERS BY OLIVIA PILS

12 OCTOBER – 9 NOVEMBER 2013

The installation THE GARDEN alludes to Hieronymus Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights" and is part of a series of installations dealing with concepts of society, mostly dystopias such as those described in the science fiction of A. Huxley or J. G. Ballard. This new work, by contrast, asks about the concept of a positive utopia. What does a world we dream of living in look like? Does it look like "The Lord of the Rings"? Doesn't the Christian paradise sound incredibly boring? Throughout cultural history, the garden (the Garden of Eden) has been a consistently positive motif, where humans, animals and plants live together in harmony…

Olivia Pils a.k.a. FAKE mistress is a composer, singer and artist from Berlin. In her pictures and prints she searches for the realms of beauty.
"I am interested in the concept of beauty or attractive and its contrary the grotesque and unattractive (which i think is far more interesting), but fully aware that beauty is a label depending on personality, society and culture. So I like to play with mostly figurative pictures and turn them into monsters, but beautiful ones..."

THE GARDEN
