Wir sind stolz und amüsiert, Mimi the Clown für eine Woche Residenz nach Berlin einzuladen, um die Wände unserer sexy-hässlichen Stadt zu erobern und die erste Einzelausstellung seiner Arbeiten im Bereich Siebdruck- und Schablonen-(Re-)Produktion vorzubereiten.
Mimi the Clown ist ein Kunstwerk für sich, das wir vielleicht der Bewegung der „Auto-Musen“ zuordnen würden: Er ist das Motiv seiner eigenen Bilder. Der Clown, der er beschlossen hat zu werden, entwickelt sich zu einem punkigen und naiven Kritiker unserer Gesellschaft, der ungebeten in unserem Alltag auftaucht, indem er auf den Wänden unserer Stadt erscheint (muss ich das mit der Street Art wirklich noch mal erklären?).
„Made in Franz“: Mimi kommt aus Nordfrankreich*, wo er auch mit Alain Buyse an der Siebdruck-(Re-)Produktion seiner Arbeiten gearbeitet hat. Er ist auch in Paris sehr aktiv und war schon mehrmals in Berlin. Wir hoffen, während seiner Residenz neue Siebdruck- und Schablonenarbeiten zu produzieren.

We are proud and amused to invite Mimi the Clown for one week of residency in Berlin, in order to invade the walls of our sexy-ugly city and to prepare the first solo exhibition of his works in the field of silkscreen and stencil (re)production.
Mimi the Clown is a piece of art of its own, which we would maybe classify in the "auto-muses" movement, means: he is the subject of his own pictures. The clown he decided to become, is evolving as a punk and naive critic of our society, uninvited in our daily lives by appearing on the walls of our city (do I have to explain the point about street art again ?)
"Made in Franz" Mimi arrives from north of France*, where he also worked together with Alain Buyse on silkscreen (re)production of his work. He is also really active in Paris, and used to visit Berlin several times already. We hope to produce thru his residency, some new silkscreen and stencil works.

Nous sommes fiers et amusés d'inviter Mimi the Clown pour une semaine de résidence à Berlin, afin d'envahir les murs de notre ville sexy-moche et de préparer la première exposition personnelle de ses œuvres en (re)production sérigraphique et au pochoir.
Mimi the Clown est une œuvre d'art à lui tout seul, que nous classerions peut-être dans le mouvement des « auto-muses » : il est le sujet de ses propres images. Le clown qu'il a décidé de devenir évolue en critique punk et naïf de notre société, s'invitant sans prévenir dans notre quotidien en apparaissant sur les murs de nos villes (faut-il vraiment réexpliquer le principe du street art ?).
« Made in Franz », Mimi arrive du nord de la France*, où il a aussi travaillé avec Alain Buyse sur la (re)production sérigraphique de son travail. Il est également très actif à Paris et est déjà venu plusieurs fois à Berlin. Nous espérons produire pendant sa résidence de nouvelles sérigraphies et de nouveaux pochoirs.
